The Doctor's Jacket - Gallery

Here we have some detailed shots and information on The Jacket for you to peruse over a cup of coffee.  Click on any image to load a larger version of it to see the detail better.

The self-explanatory full front shot
Every pattern element is faithfully reproduced and exactly positioned, right down to stitching and joint types.  The quality of workmanship is truly second to none.
The equally self explanatory full back shot
Every panel on this detailed jacket's back is accurate to the originals.  Tip for the Enthusiast - There's two buttons on the belt.  The Doctor's right button is missing, as shown here.  Feel free to remove yours too of course, but your jacket will arrive in original mint condition with both buttons.

Gratuitous offset beauty shot
No description required.  Work of art.  :-)
  Number label
Every jacket made is numbered.  There's one of the labels.   It reads "DW2005 #XXX" and matches the accompanying certificate.  Obviously anybody can print up a certificate these days, so these sequential labels rather nicely uniquely identify every one made.  There's two other labels; one is the tailor's required "made in London, England" and specialist leather identifier and the other is of course the Bad Wolf label - vintage styled so as not to spoil the look.

Joints and Stitching
This section of the back is a great example of how the several different styles of joint on the original have all been faithfully reproduced for EVERY joint on the jacket.  No mistakes and expert construction.
  Carefully chosen leather
The leather used took some considerable effort to find, and a lot of trial and error.  This was such a critical factor that it had to be Just Right.  The hide used behaves perfectly - it looks, folds, bags and drapes the same as The Doctor's on screen (we'll get a video on here at some point), and in the real world it feels terrific as an obviously top drawer leather jacket.  Some of you might consider this an overboard level of replication effort, but honestly, there really is no point in doing something like this unless it's done RIGHT!  And trust me on this - the numerous cheaper leathers we tried along the road you would NOT have been happy with.

Inside and out...
Even the bits you may not see too often are copied accurately and with the best materials.  The sleeves are lined with a different material to the main body, as per the original.  The vintage style lining may be seen occasionally, and that's why we even got that right for you too.  The material is properly intended for use as a sleeve lining for jackets, so it does as it's supposed to and lets you get your arm in and out without dragging your shirt sleeves up around your elbows.
  ...yep, even the pockets.
Very pleased with the pocket lining too.  Soft but resilient and again accurate to the originals' military origins.  In real life this means cosy hands and unscratched cellphone screens.  That's lucky, eh?
